We are athletes. As athletes, we not only know what it means to train, but we also understand the importance of remaining injury free. As therapists, we treat your injuries, teach you prevention and enable you to get back to full training as quickly as possible.

 

Tracy MontgomeryTracy Montgomery

Tracy has a Bachelor of Sciences, with a major in Physical Education from the State University of West Georgia. During this time, Tracy competed in the NCAA on a cross country running scholarship. Upon graduation, Tracy taught physical education and coached varsity track and field before moving into massage therapy. Tracy has developed a background in sports massage with experiences including the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Ottawa Rebel Lacrosse, World Cup Triathlon, Ironman Lake Placid, World Championship Ironman Hawaii, and by working with national teams including the Canadian Men's Basketball team and the Canadian Slalom Canoe and Kayak team. Tracy currently has a wide variety of clients range from national class to weekend warriors and individuals seeking active lifestyles. Tracy still enjoys running and has taken up bike and cyclocross racing and has competed in a few adventure races. Tracy is fully certified in Active Release Techniques having finished Upper, Lower, Spinal, Nerve entrapment and Biomechanics Certifications.

Michael MichaudMichael Michaud

Michael Michaud is a member of the Ontario College of Massage Therapist graduating from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1998. Michael is a member of the Canadian Sport Massage Therapist Association and has taught Sports Massage at an accredited Massage Therapy school. Before starting with Montgomery Massage Therapy, Michael has spent his time working in Physio and Chiropractic clinics maintaining a clinical and sport massage practice. Michael worked with the Ottawa Lions Track team in the winter and spring 2002 and has worked pre and post event massage at several Triathlons and Marathons. Michael has enjoyed competing in triathlon and duathlon races at various distances and completed in his first Ironman Triathlon in September 2010. Michael is fully certified in Active Release Techniques.

Sarah WhistonSarah whiston

Sarah is a member of the Ontario Massage Therapy Association and graduated from CDI College in 2006 with a massage therapy diploma. Prior to pursuing massage therapy, she completed an undergraduate degree in Communications, and spent six years in the Canadian Armed Forces working in various combat service roles as a Logistics Officer. Sarah is an athlete herself with a diverse competitive background in cross country running, nordic skiing, soccer, rowing and swimming. In recent years she has completed various half marathon and full marathon distances, and she looks forward to running her first Boston Marathon in Spring 2011. As an athlete she is passionate about helping people avoid and overcome injury and encourages a prevention-based strategy using massage and ART. She understands the importance of a quick return to activity. Sarah has a wide range of treatment experience including various soft tissue injuries, chronic pain and pregnancy massage. Sarah is certified in Active Release Techniques for upper and lower extremities and nerve entrapments.
